The Isle of Wight Cheese Company.
The Isle of Wight Cheese Co Ltd is an award-winning Island business that’s located in the rolling countryside of Queen’s Bower on the outskirts of Sandown. The story all started in 2006 with the aim of creating a variety of small scale handmade cheeses for the Island. However, things changed quickly when they started winning awards which led to the purchase of Queen Bower Dairy on the retirement of the dairy farmer. Priding themselves on creating truly authentic Isle of Wight products, the Isle of Wight Cheese Company’s milk is locally sourced and collected twice a week from their friends, Paul and Mary Bradley, who keep their Holstein Friesian herd at Crocker’s Farm in Newport. Visitors are guaranteed a really special treat when making a trip to this unique Island retail farm and will probably find it hard to resist the famous IOW Blue, the IOW Soft, The Gallybagger and Gallybagger Mature!

THE CHALLENGE
As the name suggests, The Isle of Wight Cheese Company knows an awful lot about cheese! They were looking for a simple yet interesting way to introduce each different variety to their customers, as well as helpful tips on how to get the best from each particular cheese. Also important was to get the message across that their cheeses are made exclusively from locally sourced milk from Crocker’s Farm in Newport, thus promoting a totally authentic Island product. The icing on the cake was their wish to reassure and impress their visitors and customers by highlighting all the medals and awards they’ve (not surprisingly!) won for their fabulous cheeses!
THE SOLUTION
We went to work with Isle of Wight Cheese Company to give their retail farm the wow factor. We did this by engineering a simple to use, yet very vibrant and informative Squarespace website. This featured every area of their business from the varieties of delicious cheeses they make, to their pedigree in cheese making. We also optimised the website for search by incorporating key phrases and words.
